Photography is my "first love" as an art form. I began taking pictures seriously in 1963 as a freshman at Johns Hopkins University. I loved the magic of the darkroom and completely lost track of time whenever I was in it. Afew years later, I discovered filmmaking and that became my profession and continues till today. But I never stopped taking pictures.

In 1970, I started a film production company called Spectrum Media. We now produce videos, DVDs, websites and other media. I also have a consulting practice in communications, promoting environmental, social and economic reform in developing nations. My work as a filmaker and consultant takes me on assignments all over the world, and I always find time on my trips to take photos.

I work in color and black & white, but one of my favorite media is black & white infrared photography. It has a wonderful etheral quality that I find appealing.
